It was the autumn of 1997, when I first decided to create a poetry e-zine. It was a scary idea. What if no one was interested?
When I mentioned the project to friends I was told it was a bad idea. That I shouldn't do it. When I asked for feedback from a local poetry editor, I received... less than constructive criticism.
I was hesitant. And the first draft of this site sat empty for 6 months. Until one friend's not so gentle prodding... "When are you going to do something with that poetry site???"
Well... four years later... *grinning* Four years of full issues... great poetry... interesting poets... intriguing individuals. I think launching a poetry e-zine was a damn good idea. :)
I could not have done it without all the people who sent in their work. And on occasion, their encouragement. So I thank you, for your vital part in the last four years.
I'm more than a little sad tonight, to be closing down Poet's Cut, even for a year. But the Editor is worn out, and needs a rest.
And believes in leaving the party, while one is still having fun. :)
